The review giant social network, Yelp, has finally launched in Australia! Let the stream of user generated reviews and ratings flow!

Yelp has been around since 2004, gaining quite a bit of traction in the US, and although there were many Aussie businesses being reviewed on the platform, there was never an official focus on the Australian market. Until today.

As part of its launch in Australia, Sensis and Yellow Pages are joining forces with Yelp to provide Yellow Pages listings on the Yelp network, ensuring that there’s a strong crossover between listings and the user generated reviews and ratings. With peer recommendations and social media playing a stronger role in influencing consumer purchases, you can bet that Yelp reviews will play a role in attracting new business.

Yelp also offers Business Pages, where you can take control of your business listing on Yelp and have access to some interesting insights using their analytics tools.
