The online shopping experience is becoming not only more safe and convenient but with the launch of the new Kinect Shop – it is almost real. It almost feels like we are a short time away from those virtual realities we see in the movies where holograms and projections pave an augmented reality without actually having anything real in sight. Move over fashion shopping where you can dress nameless dolls to get the perfect outfit, now you can try them on yourself in the comfort of your own home. Watch this video to see what I’m talking about:

Now imagine if this was possible to replicate easily in the near future, this could mean so much for fashion retailers. The ability to share these photos will increase the exposure of many products and brands and social media will play a huge part in making this concept work. Asking for friendly advice is only a click away.
IKEA used a similar concept where you can take pictures of furniture items in your room to see what it looks like before creating a shopping list and purchasing the items.
Would you use this technologies to make your buying experience easier? How much value would it add to your shopping experience?
