Carrying on from the ongoing saga of Facebook Places (previous posts here, here and here) it has finally been confirmed that Facebook Deals is off.

Launched four months ago in the US, and only last week in Australia, a representative from Facebook HQ has stated that “after testing Deals for four months, we’ve decided to end our Deals product in the coming weeks.”

A very short run and such a shame that this didn’t take off, but with Foursquare, Groupon and LivingSocial thriving, deal hunters will not miss out too much on a local bargain.
